Our work

Roof renewal, gutters and roof insulation

Roof work in practice: a new flat roof edge with timber fascia, a zinc gutter and downpipe on brickwork, and insulation of a pitched roof from the inside.

The roof and gutters keep the rest of the house dry. These photos show three typical parts of roof work.

New flat roof edge

When a flat roof is renewed, the roof edge and fascia are renewed too. A well-made edge with a solid timber fascia keeps water on the roof and directs it to the gutter, and finishes the roof neatly.

Zinc gutter and downpipe

Many houses in The Hague have zinc gutters and downpipes. Over the years zinc wears thin and joints start to leak. Here a new gutter box and downpipe were fitted on the corner of the house, neatly following the brickwork.

Roof insulation from the inside

An uninsulated pitched roof loses a lot of heat. In this project the roof was insulated from the inside, between and against the timber roof boards, with a vapour barrier to prevent condensation. After this step, the roof can be finished with plasterboard.
