The roof protects everything else, so small problems should not wait. In The Hague we see a mix of pitched tiled roofs on older homes, flat roofs on extensions and apartment buildings, and zinc gutters that have done their job for many years.
What we do
- Leak detection and repairs: finding where water really gets in, which is not always where you see the stain.
- Flat roof renewal: removing old roofing, checking and replacing boards where needed, insulating and fitting new roofing.
- Pitched roofs: replacing broken or slipped tiles, renewing battens and underlay, and repairing ridge tiles and lead flashing.
- Gutters and downpipes: zinc gutters, downpipes and connections, including the woodwork they are fixed to.
- Roof edges and fascias: new roof trims and fascias, as in our roof project.
- Roof insulation: from the inside or on top, combined with ventilation to prevent condensation.
Roofs near the sea
In Scheveningen, Belgisch Park and the Statenkwartier, roofs and gutters face more wind and salt air than further inland. Regular inspections, good fixings and well-maintained woodwork make a real difference here.
Insulate while you renew
Heat rises, so an uninsulated roof loses a lot of energy. When the roof is open anyway, insulation costs relatively little extra and makes the rooms below more comfortable in winter and summer. It is also the first step towards a heat pump; read heat pump, solar panels or insulation first?.

Apartments and VvE roofs
In an apartment building the roof is usually shared property. Roof work is then a matter for the VvE. We can inspect the roof and provide a quote the VvE can use to decide.

My roof is leaking. Can you come quickly?
Tell us where the leak is and send photos via the form or WhatsApp. We look at what is needed and, if possible, make a temporary repair first to prevent further damage.
Should I repair or renew my flat roof?
That depends on the age and condition of the roofing and the boards underneath. A local leak can often be repaired. If the roofing is at the end of its life, renewal with insulation is usually the better investment.
Can you insulate my roof from the inside?
Yes. Pitched roofs are often insulated from the inside with insulation boards or blankets and a vapour barrier, finished with plasterboard. Flat roofs are usually insulated on top during renewal.
Do you also replace gutters and fascias?
Yes. We replace zinc gutters, downpipes, fascias and roof edges, and paint or renew the woodwork around the roof.
