Built-in furniture makes the most of every corner, and in older homes with high ceilings and alcoves it can be a real feature. Our carpenters make joinery to measure, on site or in the workshop.
Bookcases around a doorway
Here bookcases were built on both sides of a double doorway, turning the wall into a library. The photo shows the bookcases before painting, with the shelves and frames in solid timber.
Fitted wardrobe
A wardrobe from floor to ceiling, with panelled doors painted in a soft green. Built in, it uses the full height of the room and looks like part of the architecture rather than a piece of furniture.
TV and bookcase wall
A built-in wall with open shelves, space for the television and closed storage at the bottom. In rooms with high ceilings, a wall like this brings structure and keeps cables out of sight.
Period details
For older homes, the carpenters also make decorative elements such as cornices and brackets by hand, to repair or match the original details of the house.
Bespoke carpentry is often part of a full renovation. It can also be combined with painting and a lighting plan.
