Every bathroom starts the same way: stripping out the old one. That is the moment you see what is behind the tiles, from the condition of the pipes to the state of the floor. These photos show different bathrooms we worked on, from strip-out to finish.
Strip-out in a period home
In older homes, the old bathroom is often tiled directly onto brick or plaster, with pipes hidden in the walls. After removing the tiles, we check the floor structure and the pipework. Old pipes are replaced while everything is open.
Dark tiles and a built-in bath
Dark, large wall tiles combined with a light terrazzo-look floor give this bathroom a strong, modern look. The bath is built in and tiled, with a wall-mounted mixer and a deep window sill.
A compact walk-in shower
In a smaller bathroom every centimetre counts. A glass screen instead of a shower cubicle, a wall-hung vanity unit and a tiled niche for shampoo make the room feel larger. Black fittings and a black towel radiator add contrast.
